As many know, around 6:40p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2015 a devastating F1 tornado made a direct hit on Summerfield Zoo. It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of two of our beloved animals in the storm. Also lost were three complete animal buildings and we have structural damage to all of our remaining barns. In all well over $200,000 worth of damage was caused. Without the help of volunteers and the community we would not still be planning on opening in time for the 2015 season. Donations can be sent directly to Summerfield Zoo 3088 Flora Rd. Belvidere, IL 61008 or you can donate through Prancer's Online Gift Shop! We sincerely thank everyone who has offered help and support to us in our time of need!
